Quality Expectations by Disease Site – Radiation Treatment

This information helps define and provide guidance on disease-site-specific quality expectations and metrics for healthcare providers delivering radiation treatment in Ontario.

A network of expert panels and working groups identified 671 quality of care expectations for all disease sites and radiation treatment protocols. The expectations largely follow existing practice guidelines. They were categorized with the following 5 groups:

  1. Pre-treatment assessment
  2. Treatment planning and associated imaging issues
  3. Treatment delivery issues
  4. Quality assurance steps specific to the disease site or protocol
  5. Post-treatment follow-up
