Thymic Cancer Pathway Map

This pathway map provides an overview of best practices for the management of patients in Ontario during specific phases of the thymic cancer continuum.

The Thymic Cancer Pathway Map provides evidence-based guidance for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of adult patients presenting with thymic epithelial tumours, including thymoma, thymic carcinoma and thymic neuroendocrine tumours (NETs).

The Thymic Cancers Radiographic Imaging Educational Tool, combined with the pathway maps, will provide clinical guidance on each stage of thymic epithelial tumours and help clinicians identify thymic tumours through case examples of radiographic imaging. This educational tool can be used by family physicians, nurse practitioners, radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, general surgeons and residents.

Pathway maps are developed based on evidence from clinical practice guidelines. In the absence of scientific evidence, the consensus of multidisciplinary experts in Ontario is used.
