Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre

Caring for people living with and beyond cancer requires a community effort. It involves thinking big and working together. The residents of the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN and the province have responded by helping us bring cancer services closer to home. The Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre (SMRCC) opened in 2012.

What began as a small clinic staffed by a physician and a nurse – has grown to be a provincially recognized regional cancer program consistently ranked as one of the top 5 in the province. The Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre is a 75,000-square foot comprehensive cancer centre employing more than 200 professional staff. The facility includes:

  • 34 chemotherapy treatment spaces complete with satellite pharmacy
  • 3 radiation machines
  • 1 CT simulator suite to plan treatments
  • 2 large outpatient clinic areas
  • RIVA – state-of-the-art robotic chemotherapy medication preparation

A Pan-LHIN Gynaecological Oncology Program has recently been established that provides services for women in the North Simcoe Muskoka LHIN, North East LHIN and northern areas of the Central LHIN.
