Safe Administration of Chemotherapy: Methods and Development

Guideline Objective

To provide the description of the general methods used to produce the two-part guideline on the safe administration of systemic cancer treatment with a focus on patient-relevant issues that the Systemic and Nursing Programs, CCO, promote. Results that are common across the two parts will also be reported here.

Patient Population

Adult patients who are going to receive systemic cancer treatment or who are already receiving systemic treatment for cancer in healthcare settings or at home.

Intended Guideline Users

• Organizations that provide systemic cancer treatment to cancer patients.
• Clinicians and healthcare providers (e.g., nurses, pharmacists, physicians, clerks) involved with the administration of systemic cancer treatment agents, and hospital administrators.
