“PFAs bring a very real perspective. Our stories are important because they bring a kind of intimacy between the person being cared for and the person providing the care.”

—Kim A., Patient and Family Advisor

A public advisor’s role is project-based, and specific responsibilities depend on the project’s needs and the public advisor’s interests.

We aim to ensure equitable representation from across Ontario. Therefore, we welcome advisors from all regions of the province.

There are no current public advisor opportunities available. We hope you will check back with us another time.

I became a public advisor as a way to share my family’s experience with the death of my mom who was only diagnosed with lung cancer after her passing. Being a public advisor has been an amazing opportunity for me to participate in positive change. CCO truly values the experiences and opinions of what we have to contribute to the patient and family experience.
