How to Become an Ontario Breast Screening Program Site

Two types of Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) sites provide services to most women ages 50 to 74: screening sites and assessment sites.

Data collected as part of our program evaluation has shown that outcomes improve when comprehensive, high-quality, multidisciplinary assessment is integrated with screening. Average time to diagnosis is reduced, and the ratio of benign to malignant tumours improves. Overall, this means better care for program participants.

Screening Sites

Please contact your Regional Cancer Program to learn how your mammography facility can become part of the Ontario Breast Screening Program. To be connected with the Regional Cancer Program for your region, email screening@cancercare.on.ca.

Screening and Assessment Sites

OBSP breast assessment sites provide timely, high-quality diagnosis and follow-up for women with abnormal screens. They also provide the information and emotional support screening participants need.

If you are an OBSP site and are interested in becoming an OBSP assessment site, please contact screening@cancercare.on.ca for more information.
