ColonCancerCheck Resource Hub
This hub contains tools, resources and information for primary care providers and endoscopists involved in colorectal cancer screening, including:
- updated screening recommendations for people in Ontario including a lower screening start age and family history recommendations (launching on July 1, 2026)
- post-polypectomy surveillance recommendations
- resources to support high-quality colonoscopy procedures

Laboratory Services for Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) Testing
Starting on July 1, 2026, In-Common Laboratories (ICL) will manage the distribution and testing of the FIT in Ontario.
- Continue to send requests for FIT to LifeLabs until June 30, 2026.
- Start sending requests to ICL using the new FIT requisition on July 1, 2026.
- See the Frequently Asked Questions for Primary Care Providers for information on how to work with ICL, including account set-up and receiving FIT results.
- ICL provides medical laboratory testing and other patient care services. Read more about ICL.
New Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) Device and Return Information
Starting on July 1, 2026, a new FIT device will be included in the FIT kit. It looks similar to the previous FIT device except it has a purple twist-to-close cap to prevent leakage (instead of a snap closure).
Participants can still return their completed FITs by mail. A change is that drop off will be available at Rexall locations. For more information visit iclabs.ca/FIT/locations.
