Designated Cancer Surgery Centres
Designated centres are hospitals that meet certain safety and quality standards for a particular procedure or type of care. In Ontario, designated cancer surgery centres have been established for:
- hepato-pancreatic biliary (HPB) cancers (liver, pancreas and bile ducts)
- thoracic cancers (lung and esophageal)
- head and neck cancers
- gynecological cancers (ovaries, cervix, vulva and uterus)
