Diagnostic Imaging in Breast Cancer
Research Question(s)
In patients with breast cancer, when should ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT) scan, or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) be used:
- for the initial staging of patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer, to assess tumour response in patients with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy, to detect disease recurrence in patients who have completed primary treatment for breast cancer?
- How often should imaging be repeated during treatment and follow-up?
