Guideline Objective

This document provides interim guidance on cervical screening and colposcopy for people ages 21 to 24 who started screening before the formal change in age of initiation in the Ontario Cervical Screening Program (OCSP). When human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is launched in the OCSP, the age of initiation for cervical screening will change from age 21 to age 25. After this change, there will be a transitional period when cervical screening and colposcopy decisions will need to be made for people under age 25 who started screening before the implementation of HPV testing.
