Guideline Objective

This report by the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences aims to:

  • Summarize the current state of health status and system utilization among cancer patients that are complex, and through a review of the literature establish certain indicators that could best evaluate the integration of care among complex cancer patients
  • Contribute to Cancer Care Ontario's capability to improve patient care experiences and health outcomes
  • Empower health providers to ensure that care is optimized and occurs in a setting that provides both the best care for complex patients and value to the health system Along with summarizing the results of a literature review on indicators of the integration of care in various health systems, this report highlights the analysis of patient utilization data to understand the trajectories of care for cancer patients.
