Guideline Objective

This document summarizes the Ontario Cervical Screening Program’s recommendations for cervical screening and best practice colposcopy pathways for management of abnormal cervical screening results. The supporting evidence and contextual factors (e.g., feasibility and acceptability for the Ontario context) used to develop these recommendations are also summarized in this document.

Population

Asymptomatic people with a cervix in Ontario ages 25 to 74 who have ever been sexually active.

Intended Guideline Users

Family physicians, other primary care providers and gynecology specialists involved in cervical screening, as well as colposcopists.
